For the avid readers, there are many sites in which you can find a wide variety of books to choose from. Every site is unique having some things that others do not as well as titles from authors you may never have heard of before. One of these sites is the Book Cubby. For those who do not know about the Book Cubby, the Book Cubby was created to help Authors/Writers get more exposure, and to help the Readers learn more about these Authors.

Founder, Zetta Hupf wanted to create a site where there could be some great interaction between Author and Reader. Author/Illustrator, Zetta Hupf founded the Book Cubby in July 2009.  http://thebookcubby.webs.com/. Find the book cubby group on FaceBook http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=299728944900#!/group.php?gid=107861589250951. I asked Zetta a few questions and she was more than willing to reply.

(Kevin) Promoting books is hard for authors to do on their own. What are some things you recommend?

(Zetta) You truly have to be Patient, but with that said you truly have to put your all in your promotion efforts. Create a great Media Letter, contact local newspapers, news stations, (if a children's book) schools and daycares, be sure to work with your local groups, churches and more. Create a hook in your letter, something that will reel in the reader. Make sure it is brief though, but give the information that is truly needed to promote yourself. There is a lot of leg work needed to be done by Authors these days. And don't forget to contact your local Libraries, coffee shops and Book Stores. They usually love working with local Authors.... Create some free gifts such as, bookmarks, a free book contest or something of that sort. And lastly, join social networks and work with other Authors to help promote one another.

(Kevin) Is there a paid service you provide or is everything you do free?

(Zetta) Book Reviews are offered free from Published Authors. We do offer services that do have a fee, such as Illustration and Literary Services. You will work with the Service provider on the fees on a personal level.

(Kevin) Is there anything about your site we should know or that you would like us all to know?

(Zetta) The Book Cubby is truly a family friendly site. We want Authors and Readers to have a place that they feel truly comfortable with. A site where they are treated with the utmost respect.

(Kevin) How do authors sign up?

(Zetta) Authors who would like to have their book and information posted on The Book Cubby can go to the site and send me their information through our link or email me at thebookcubby@gmail.com. Books can be Published or Self-Published. Just click follow to sign up and follow our site.
